Dr. Joel J. Traver is an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education and Department Chair of Winona State University’s Rochester Education Department (RED). Joel is the Director of the Graduate Induction Program—a partnership with Rochester Public Schools to assist teachers in residency with challenges unique to entry into the field of education. Joel’s research interests include Adult Learning and Development, New Teacher Induction, Assessment for Continuous Improvement, and Leadership in Education. Before the professoriate, Dr. Traver was a middle and high school classroom teacher, program director, and community volunteer. Joel earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN.
